I remember ouR therapist saying "Sometimes its nice to have an official diagnosis" prior to a visit with our neuro. I thought she was a bit looney at the time and then we got the CP dianosis. The diagnosis is never what you want to hear..... but at least it gives you a starting point.

I'm the Mommy to two preemies, one 27 weeker and one 28 weeker. My 28 weeker has been diagnosed with PVL (periventricular leucomalacia) and ONH (optic nerve hypoplasia). Now we wait.
